Lundgren says his hardest scene was his first scene, where he had to come out looking crazy and tell a joke. He says it got worse and worse with each take, and they did about 20 takes...when he went in to do ADR, Stallone went, “Ayyyy, guess which take I used!” It was of course take one.

Alot of great and funny comments from the panel, and that Empire review is positive :), despite not being very in-depth, and frankly, tries way to hard to be witty and sarcastic, which is getting pretty annoying, why does everyone have to do that when it comes to actionmovies? We get it, you're high-brow, action is for morons, these guys are old and washed-up and so forth.

Sadly, I think that's the kind of critical response we will have to expect, plus the usual complaints against story, characters, dialogue etc, but positives regarding the action. Partly, I think it's because the action-genre has it's own set of rules, clichés and quirks that you sometimes have to be a fan to really appreciate. In the end, it's supposed to be great entertainment, nothing more, but certainly nothing less.

I know right? I don't mind that it comes from certain critics who have at least a certain seriousness but it's annoying when it comes from wanna be young critics who roll the red carpet to the latest over the top blockbuster. They just think that's the cool attitude to have regarding old school action flicks because they would blush and think they'd be laughed at if they showed a but of interest. Just ignore them.

Yeah, it's not worth getting worked up about, but prejudice - in all it's forms - really tests my patience sometimes. And the ironic thing about that review is that it's positive! Why can't he or she, whoever reviewed it, just write about the movie, what was good and what was bad, without ranting about who's b-list and looks old or whatever, it instantly takes away their credibility. But anyway, you're right, it's best to ignore them.

Arrow in the Head on FB:
The Expendables, is exactlty what you think it will be, a macho, fist fight laced, ka-boom heavy hour and half of broes before hoes with heavy artillery. You dig 80's action films? DIG IN! My balls actually got bigger after watching this bad boy. Awesome!
