It was AWESOME to get to see Dolph on the big screen again! He was great in The Expendables as a bad guy(makes you think what "Icarus" would have been like with Dolph original idea of him as the bad guy being interrogated by a cop). He really deserved more screen time. With all the talks of a sequel, maybe we'll get to see more of him in action.

With all the positive talks (he's one of peoples favorite characters), his promoting the film like the two top stars of the movie, and Sly wishing he could have given Dolph more screen time, I don't see any good reason why we wouldn't get a Gunnar Jensen fest in the sequel!

Sylvester Stallone better give Gunnar Jensen more screen time in the sequel if it ever gets made because i want to know more about his character, we know Sly has a hard time controling Gunnar and i want to see that same attitude of Gunnar in the sequel where he does his own things and not really taking orders from anyone else except sometimes Sly, but i don't want him to be a traitor again and rat on the Expendables, i want him to be a good guy too but only to his teammates the expendables while everyone else in the world he doesn't give a shit and he has no mercy towards any bad guys, just blowing them away like he did with that pirate :D

In the script the scene ended with Gunnar being handcuffed after they found a bag of meth on him and Gunnar kicking the pirate overboard and killing him after all. (not sure if they shot that part or not but hope they did and could be on the extended edition.

Did anyone read the comic book prequel?

The opening scene was a lot longer in the script (although that line came up during the shoot I guess) and even though I don't think they filmed as epic as it was, I'm sure they shortened it a lot in the editing room, omitting a lot of carnage footage and dialog. There is also the end of that scene when they find meth in Gunnar's pocket, they cuff him and the last second Gunnar still manages to kill the pirate (I don't know if they filmed it or not).

There's plenty of other stuff and alternate takes in the 3mins promo reel like "Hello Karma!" or Roberts's "I own you!". Plus Sly mentioned 5 different versions of Gunnar's death scene with Sly with notably a memorable talk about a "viking funeral"...

There's hope for a great extended cut!

Gunnar Jensen second favorite character after Barney Ross (and that's only because it's on a Stallone board) 8)

One not to be overlooked by any stretch of the imagination is Stallone’s old Rocky nemesis, Dolph Lundgren who turns in a diverse winning performance as Gunner Jensen.

http://atnzone.com/nz/2010/08/29/movie- ... pendables/

I said the movie was 40% Lundgren, but he uses that 40% to really be THE standout in the movie. Dolph spends the entire time as a junkie mercenary who blows a pirate into splattery wet bits, and stomps a guy in the face with his huge boot and says "INSECT!" then pulls the guy back up and we see the HUGE footprint on the guy's face.

Lundgren also wields a shotgun, and smacks Gary Daniels with it delivering my favorite line in the film "I'LL SMACK THAT FU MANCHU MUSTACHE OFF YOUR FACE AND SEND IT BACK TO THE 60'S!"

Lundgren also has one quick fight with Jet Li, and another extended fight with Jet Li, that leads to a hilarious battle in a low caution corridor that leads to Lundgren hilariously smacking his head while Jet Li beats him up.

This movie is a dream for the fans, it's still unbelivable that Dolph is worldwide in theaters! 8)

You mention that you don't have access to IMDb Pro Jox. Whenever you need anything from there or need an update on something certain, just write so in the forum or via PM. I have full access via my work at filmz.dk and would gladly check out whatever you need :)

Thanks Kasper!

Whenever Dolph Lundgren is on screen, it becomes a four star picture, all the way. But when he's not on screen, which is for a large majority of the film, it becomes a two star picture.

We can begin this trend by putting Dolph Lundgren in more movies. The man is a national treasure.

The Expendables

Is it a coincidence that Dolph's two best movies are the one's that are directed by Sylvester Stallone? No, it's not. Stallone is the legend. Dolph's acting goes up about 2,000 notches when Sly is in charge. Gunnar Jensen was an absolutely brilliant character and I'm glad he didn't die, so that we can see him in the sequel. Although, it would have been nice for a nig named star to die in the first movie, but everyone lived. My best lines were "Cockroach" and "Don't talk to me, isnsect", pretty funny stuff.

The best film, period, of the last 6 years.

A+

1,2 million admissions in France after two weeks which is great for 2010.
(in comparison UNISOL did 1,5 million total and ROCKY IV did 4,9 million)
8)

311,346 admissions in Germany after one week.
