Someone posted this photo on a French forum, supposed to be Michael Jay White and JCVD on location for the first US, can't find confirmation though...

Re: UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: Action Figures

Postby UNISOL W7 on 18 May 2011, 01:02

Guys,

How are you? I hope you're all doing great!

I have good news for you...

As you know, I am trying from time to another to make a deal with Hot Toys to make us Universal Soldier 1/6 scale action figures for GR-44 and GR-13.

2 days ago, I got an official mail from Hot Toys, and they told me that the idea has been forwarded as a reference to their production team.
 Well, finger crossed!

Please join this group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=272608435131 - for the more members we have - the better chances we might get those figures made!
Thank you so much.

Note: My 2nd choice for a DL action figure, would be He-Man! What 'bout you?

It's not just the toy company that would decide, they have to get a license from the copyright owners who are the ones to be sold on the idea. And it's been explained on He-Man sites that Mattel couldn't make figures based on the movie anymore (Gwildor, Saurod and Blade were the exceptions made at the time and even then they could do He-Man or Skeletor)

Yeah, but Hot Toys http://www.hottoys.com.hk team is really good with this! They never quit. I just hope their production team decides to make those figures; then, we'll see what we (the fans and officials) can do to help out.

Hm, and what's Ralf Möller up to? He was a tank, too. And I think he still is.

Still making movies apparently but he was only seen as "tank" so his career never totally took off even when he did that CONAN tv show, the VIKING SAGAS movie with Sven Thorsen, or his role in GLADIATOR...

There's a whole bunch of TV spots on the Studio Canal / Kinowelt edition, they were on youtube not so long ago and taken out.
