It depends what he means by that, but doesn't necessarily means he wants to re-cut it: if he refers to the movie business definition (not the recent commercial one) of a director's cut then it's already been made since the director's cut is the version the director is allowed to make within the first 6 or 8 weeks of editing, before the producers put their nose in it. But the issue might be to put a hand of such a version if it hasn't been trashed, or the original negative or internegative.

How is the DVD coming along that's been crafted so lovingly?

Been reading Vic Armstrong's new book The True Adventures of the World's Greatest Stuntman. Had to skip ahead at first to see what he had to say about ARMY OF ONE.

Overall he says it was a good experience. Described Lundgren as "A great guy but not the most accomplished actor in the world." He doesn't think the story holds up but still feels it's a good, solid action film. Says he wasn't able to release his own cut of the film and sorta regrets not fighting more for the movie but once filming ended he was off to another project. He acknowledges that the film has got a cult following now and that he still gets letters every week from fans of the film.

One of the photos in the book that accompanies his recollections of ARMY OF ONE is the great shot of Lundgren kicking that guy on fire in the film. Turns out the guy on fire is Vic's brother Andy.

Couple other interesting notes:

-He was hired as the second unit director on JOHNNY MNEMONIC in part as an insurance policy if first-time Robert Longo didn't work out during the production. He was disappointed he didn't get to direct it because he really liked the script and knows the film didn't turn out as well as it should have.

-He wanted to direct UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN (Vic did the second unit work on the first film) but Sony decided to go with fellow (and rival) stuntman Mic Rogers which surprised him because Rogers "hadn't done a fraction of what I'd done." Now he figures it was for the best because the sequel was a huge flop but at the time he was "deeply pissed off."

About the cinematographer Daniel Turrett:
After a decade on the East Coast, Turrett relocated to Los Angeles. Almost immediately, he landed work as a camera operator on several commercials. Another break came when well-respected filmmaker Vic Armstrong (best known for his work on action films such as Gangs of New York, Charlie's Angels, The World Is Not Enough, and Tomorrow Never Dies) was sufficiently impressed by Turrett's experience with West to hire him as second unit director of photography for Universal Soldier.

“I went to Arizona for a month and photographed the second unit—amazing action footage. Vic and I became friends on that film. He has been very helpful and a big influence on my career.” Later, when Armstrong prepared to direct Joshua Tree, he again hired Turrett as cinematographer. The pair worked together a third time on Starship Troopers with Armstrong serving as second unit director and Turrett as second unit director of photography.

I am looking for a Music Cue Sheet and a dialogue (continuity) script for this film, does anyone have one or know where to get one?

Thanks!

Music cut sheets and dialog lists are hard to find because they're only sent to distributors.
