Independent distributors Shout Factory have revealed that they are planning to release a combo pack edition of director Vic Armstrong's Joshua Tree a.k.a Army of One (1993), starring Dolph Lundgren, George Segal and Kristian Alfonso. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is February 26th.

It's high-caliber action from the start to finish when Wellman Santee (Lundgren) goes gunning for his money and running for his life after his partner is killed during a botched heist. Sensational stunts and spectacular special effects push the action to the limit as he captures a beautiful hostage (Kristian Alfonso) and takes off across the desert in a high-speed race for his life. Six thousand square miles of sand and dozens of turbo-charged super cars set the stage for a bloody, bullet-riddled showdown with a ruthless killer.

Region A is not a problem. Just rip it on your hard drive with DVDFab and burn back-up copy for your own use, it will be Region Free.

Not bad but I'm hoping this has a reversible cover.

Shout!’s Joshua Tree will have both endings, audio commentary (with Vic and Andy Armstrong), and interviews (with Vic and Andy Armstrong; and Dolph Lundgren).

Shit cover. A cheap cut and paste job. I could have done a much better job.

But...no one likes me. :(

That's fine by me. At least it's faithful to the original international key art and title. Not mentioning we get good special features, both endings and a descent original cinemascope transfer for the first time!

They'll probably be bolder with the DARK ANGEL artwork as per their other sci-fi/fantastic titles (see their recent cover of THEY LIVE for instance).

I'd have to agree with Mr. Watson; that is a terrible cover, super cheap looking.

I also agree with Mr. Watson in that nobody likes him...

(Haha, kidding!)

How is a small, independent distributor like Shout! Factory able to obtain the rights and release THEY LIVE? JOSHUA TREE I can almost understand... That title's been languishing forever between the once Live Entertainment, then to Artisan, then to Lion's Gate... I'm no expert, but I imagine Lion's Gate had no problem handing JOSHUA TREE over... But THEY LIVE is a cult classic, property of Universal... How'd that happen?

The cover isn't bad. I like the original a lot better but they had to change it up.
I would love to see this on blu-ray, but I don't have a player for that.

Either the rights of THEY LIVE expired or Shout had to make a deal to exploit it temporarily... Studios like Lionsgate and Universal are not always on the ball with cult classics, so they might have thought they wouldn't make much money with it (it's as if it was HALLOWEEN or a more commercial Carpenter title). As for JOSHUA TREE I'm pretty sure their rights had run out.

This actually is the original artwork that they first came out with for the film (along with the two-shots featuring K. Alfonso) and was used in some territories, if you're referring to the North American "ARMY OF ONE" artwork with the flame background it was actually the last to be produced & released.

By the way we don't know if this will be the final cover yet, maybe they posted that one to have a visual on Amazon for the time being, it's not even on their website yet...

It's OK if you don't have a Blu-ray player because it's a COMBO including a DVD disc! 8)
(companies should communicate more on these because I've noticed a lot of people don't seem to notice and assume they can't get it, even though it's specified)

Yeah, I was referring to the Army of One version. It is classic to me because that's the one I grew up with.
