I hear Snipes is out of jail now so he doesn't need to!

I think Wesley's still confined to his home for 6 months or something. I'm sure he'd be able to wrangle out of that to appear in the film however.
The disappointing thing would be, if his role had to become more of cameo, because he'd be a perfect villain.

If Snipes couldn't leave his house I'm sure the producers would send a crew to film his scenes at his home.

I'm only joking of course, but the sad part is, they probably would do that.

I'm sure they could work Snipes scenes to be filmed at the end of the shoot. If they start filming in the fall, they could still be shooting into early 14 perhaps. Even still, he should be free to shoot on location by Oct I would have thought.

Let's just hope that Dolph is finished with Rescue 3 before filming starts for EX3.

Even if R3 is not done when EX3 starts filming he could come half-way through the shoot like on the first one... I'm more anxious about the evolution of his character or his importance in the movie (don't want him to be the new Terry Crews or Randy Couture of the bunch or that they cut out his best stuff)... That said I'm grateful that he's part of the EXP movies and that he's even become one of its main assets.

Agreed.

In the first movie his character was well written (for the mediocre script) and interesting, in the second one he got reduced to a comic relief, allthough he played that part well.

The cinema I went to had the second biggest reaction to Dolph's part in the "favorite dish" scene, everyone was laughing hysterically.
The biggest reaction was of course Chuck's first scene.

I wouldn't mind if he's not in the whole movie this time, but I would hope that the scenes he is in are well written and give him something interesting to do.

I don't mind him being the comic relief in EX2, that's Dolph we're talking about: he's never got the biggest laughs in a movie, that was gamble and it also set him apart from the rest of the gang.

BUT they also cut out most of his action scenes and a genius sequence: fighting drunk a bunch of goons while singing a Swedish hymn... (imagine the RED SCORPION bar scene with a more capable and more crazy Dolph/Gunnar).

Does anyone know if EX3 is penned as the last one or (if it made money would they contiune?) I dont mind the silly jokes, or the casting etc like most people here I want a good story!, a good arc for each of the leads - If it lends itself to a final one then you might as well kill off some of the lesser stars and gear it right up for a final conclusion.
- Lets be honest. This is just a case to you, to me its more. Much more! and if you try and take this disk I'm going to hit you very, very hard!

EX3 is only BEING penned now, and probably will go through several rewrites again before production starts and rewrites again by Sly himself (now he probably has a couple writers doing the heavy lifting) until the last day of the shoot. If that's what you were asking. ;)

Wasn't the word that Jackie Chan had agreed to come aboard, but he didn't care for the first draft of the script, so now Sly & Co are rewriting it to get his approval?

That's at least what I remember reading.

If that's true, then that might be the best thing that has happened to the franchise, maybe the script will be really good this time.

Jackie is different than most of the cast members that he is still a theatrical star, certainly in Asia, and even his American films have all had a wide theatrical release.
He's not in DTV land so he probably still demands a high quality script and production.

I wouldn't be surprised if the producers offered him some crappy one week glorified cameo at first to get him in the movie for cheap and then exploit his name and image to make crazy dough all over the world.

That's sort of what they did with Chuck, Arnold and Bruce. Allthough I'm sure they all got paid handsomely for their few days of work.

Yes. He was awesome in Assassins. Which was a half awesome movie. Plus Desperado is badass. Tonio would make a good bad guy too, along with Wesley.

Gotta hand it to Stallone, he's great with the mysterious tweets and hints. Got me pumped already.
