I think Jackie can be a little egotistical too sometimes. He always says there is only one Jackie Chan and nobody should try to imitate him, and that much is true, his stunts are incredible and he is a total icon. But does that mean he can't join a bunch of other action icons for the sake of not being a party pooper? If there is indeed only one Jackie Chan, he shouldn't have any qualms about standing out in TE3 and doing a buddy movie with Sly later on.

I will definitely will go see the movie in a theater, but I will temper my enthusiasm about the movie. No expectation, I'll just have a good time when it'll come.

D's just announced on his FB that after 2 months in South Africa, he'll have 3 months in Bulgaria (Exp 3 I assume). I'd hope if he's spending that much time, he'll have be there for most of the shoot and be more prominent in the third film.
Plus 5 months in Thailand after that. Hopefully that means plenty of time devoted to getting Skin Trade right.

Only two months to shoot Rescue 3?

Does anyone know if he will film the entire first season in that time stretch, and if so, how many episodes?

In two months they can barely shoot half of the season (between 8 and 12) at most with about one episode a week (unless it's really cheap and quick) though I think it's a couple weeks more actually. The five months for SKIN TRADE comprise both pre-production and filming, with possibly a 50 days schedule (which is twice as much as DTVs and what they used to have back in the day).

I wonder if they are shooting all of Dolph's scenes for the first season during those 2.5 months.
If they shoot 6 days a week, that would mean 2-3 days per episode with Dolph.

And after Dolph leaves for Bulgaria they shoot the rest of the scenes. This would mean that he would be in about 50% of each episode.

I certainly hope they're not going to shoot the entire season in that time frame, 2-3 days to shoot an entire episode would be awful.

And 50 days shooting schedule for Skin Trade would be amazing!

50 days is on the level of a theatrical movie schedule these days.

I don't know if they have more money than usual but it doesn't mean anything because you can produce great stuff for little money in Thailand. For instance $5 million is considered a big budget over there. Having the time to do things properly and creatively is far more important and D knows it. That said maybe they managed to get more money, I don't know how Tony Jaa is doing in pre-sales these days as he hasn't got anything out in a while. Apparently one of the producers is Fredrik Malmberg who's been working on mostly on theatrical films including the previous and next CONAN, the LET ME IN remake, BROKEN CITY.

That's what I meant. These DTV movies frequently have only 3-4 week schedules simply because they don't have enough budget to film for more, because most of the budget (above the line) goes to the stars salaries and producers' fees etc.

That's why I pondered if Dolph might have taken a paycut and used some of that money for below the line expenses allowing a longer shoot.

Of course shooting in Thailand must be fairly cheap, but then again so is Bulgaria.

I'm also wondering about Tony Jaa's pre-sale worth, as he sort of fell off the radar for a number of years.
But I did read that buyers were very excited about Wesley Snipes latest movie that he shot before he went to prison, and is only now coming out, so maybe it's the same thing with Jaa.

It's one of his babies, he's producing it and certainly wants the money to be on the screen so I don't think he's taking his usual fee, maybe not even anything or a percentage once it makes profit...

Yeah... sly needs to stay away from the re-writes... his hamfisted humor in EX2 is what kept that movie from being more fun than it could have. This one needs to find a tone somewhere between 1 and 2 with a much better setup. I still think battling it out with the mexican cartels was a good route to go for the 2nd film.

I feel like the marketing needs to be stronger for this last installment (if it is just a trilogy) especially if they add more stars.. these days domestic BO is almost insanely reliant on marketing more than ever... word of mouth is only good if its positive WOM. I really hope the story/script are much stronger for this outing.
