So apparently cast arrives on the 12th and shooting starts on the 19th???? I'll believe it when I see it. It will also be interesting to see just who ends up arriving to start the shoot. There's still question marks over half the cast. It doesn't appear as if anyones officially signed on.

As for Harrison Ford, I hope it's true, but like anything with Sly you have to take it with a pinch of salt.

In a week I'm off to Bulgaria to bring back GUNNER JENSEN to the new EXPENDABLES 3 line up. And what a cast! I think Sly Stallone has possibly brought more action stars to one film than anybody has ever done in the history of Hollywood.

D is indeed cranking up a the first episodes of SAF3 before flying to Bulgaria for EX3 (and will resume SAF3 in the fall I assume) which is indeed unbelievably starting shooting in less than two weeks.

I LOVE the fact that Harrison Ford is in over Willis. Im a big fan of Willis but Ford (if playing a Church type role) could well be just the type of real sinister bad guy/good guy that the first two were lacking IMHO.

Harrison Ford always uses the same set of facial expression at least in action movies. But I love his voice! Interesting that they say that he has a nicer personality. I never heard complaints about Willis. But I never researched that.

No mention of Seagal or Chan, but Li seems to be back. Please get rid of Rousey, Ortiz and Lutz though. Yuck. What a waste of screen time. Gina Carano is more deserving.

why didn't he mention Chan and Seagal? are they out?

I think Chan is out (which he says a couple months back, he's not available and also apparently he wants star in a movie with Sly only), Seagal possibly so (which was expected given his ego is probably bigger than all the cast egos combined). That said and as we've seen happen during the EX2 pre-production as well, the producers and cast can't be expected to to mention every single member of the cast every time. (I even suspect sometime some of the producers and actors get lost as to whom is in the movie and who's not) Also some can be in negociation
until the last minute (I hear some cast members may still be announced)...

Someone on the Stallone forum reminded me of this great quote of his at the time of EX2 which is a very representative rule of everyday filmmaking:

The one thing I’ve learned is what is a fact on Monday is a complete fallacy on Tuesday. A lot of it is scheduling. It’s not financial. It’s just that Bulgaria is definitely a jaunt. It’s a commitment, you know what I mean? Especially in the dead of winter.

I wish they weren't filming in Bulgaria again... I hated that sort of foggy blue tint as the backdrop for EX2. I really wanted something akin to a desert shootout against the mexican drug cartels ala the shootout in Con Air that took place in the middle of nowhere.

Little surprised Jet Li is coming back. He was barely in EX2. Thought they would've phased his character out and brought in some new, fresher faces to replace him. I understand that he's needed to help sell the film in China, but if he's only gonna be in it for barely five minutes, then I say move forward with someone else. I know I wouldn't be overly upset if Li wasn't in the third installment...

Yeah I'm surprised too because he didn't seem to care at all but I guess he must be easy to pay off.
