Love the teaser. Very original. But they sould've put Davi with Grammer too.

Sly is on Leno here in the next couple of minutes... no doubt to talk Ex3 now with the release of the teaser today!

The more I watch it, the more it grows on me. While it'd be nice to get a clearer shot of all the stars (as is, it's pretty unfocused), it's the music that's memorable and easily sells it. Great choice.

I wonder if it has to do with the fact that Gibson, Crews, Ford and Banderas were not present wth all the others while they shot it, so they had to trick it with CGI, they weren't even aligned like this on the stage but in 3 separate groups (which I thought they included the young ones but now it'd be better without them).

Here's some Seagal talk but we know we can't trust much of what he says...

I think it's great because it does what it's supposed to, tease. Let the audience know Sly is back and bringing everybody with him.

Agree or disagree but Lutz, Rousey and Ortiz are more familiar names/faces to a certain audience today than Davi or Roberts. Lutz is in Twilight and at least being seen in trailers for that horrid looking Hercules and Rousey is the female face of the UFC and on TV, etc. Nobody would know who Davi is unless they had a sudden flashback to The Goonies or Die Hard from 30 years ago.

With Lutz, Rousey and Ortiz it's like Couture and Crews on the first movie, totally unknown in Europe before the first movie but pretty popular names in the U.S. in their own field.

Robert Davi is popular among us because he was a recognizable face in cult classics of our generation but even then who knew his name among the crowds? Plus he's likely not a much "physical" character in the movie. I never expected him to be on there with the others". Same goes for Kelsey Grammer, it's like: do you ever see the "suits" on action movie posters?

I know Davi and always appreciated his sleazy characters. I don't know the three youngsters. But then again I wouldn't watch Twilight. Too old for that shit. ;)

Only one of them is from the TWILIGHT movies (and now the lead in Renny Harlin's HERCULES), the others are champions in boxing and female judo/MMA (plus another young actor Glen Powell, that I randomly caught saw in a movie last week). But I guess none of us here heard of them before even though if you research there's quite a bit of coverage on them in the medias.

Lutz did an okay job in the actioner "Java Heat" opposing Mickey Rourke. The movie reminded of some buddy movie of the early 90's. Not the best actor in the world, but he did the job.

I also caught JAVA HEAT a couple months back. Not very good, and Lutz just doesn't have leading man charisma. What's interesting to me about that one though is the current state of Rourke's career... These are the EXACT types of films he was doing back in the day. Back in 2008 after his comeback with THE WRESTLER, it appeared that Rourke was getting good roles again and was back in the spotlight (taking roles in IRON MAN 2 and THE EXPENDABLES notably). Unfortunately, it's widely apparent that he has slipped back into the quick paycheck jobs that he resorted to back in the '90's and early 2000's... Interestingly, he also maligned these projects in various interviews during his "comeback"... I wonder how he's feeling about his career choices now. I understand there are bills to pay (we've all got 'em), but it's interesting how his career has essentially come full circle...

What I don't understand is why Millenium are pushing Lutz down our throats?

Kellan Lutz Talks THE EXPENDABLES 3
How was that experience? What was it like to go from being the lead of one action movie to working with some real action icons?
LUTZ: It was another dream come true. They were my heroes, growing up. You have Arnold [Schwarzenegger], Sly [Stallone], Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren. We’re all in one helicopter, yelling for Sly to come at us. I was just like, “When will I ever have this opportunity again?!” It really was a dream.

Who are you playing in it?
LUTZ: I play the leader of the young Expendables. Sly comes and recruits me, and I recruit our team. The older guys are just broken and old and busted, so he comes to the younger, more tactical guys to handle the next mission. So, I got to work with Sly quite a bit.

Did you have any scenes with Arnold Schwarzenegger or Harrison Ford?
LUTZ: Yeah. I had scenes with Arnold, Harrison, Mel, Kelsey Grammer and Antonio Banderas. I had scenes with them all. It was quite amazing.

When you work with people like that, is it more nerve-wracking and intimidating, or is it more exciting and bad-ass?
LUTZ: I’m just excited, and I think it’s bad-ass. I don’t really get starstruck. I just get so excited because these are guys I’ve always wanted to work with. I would pretend I was Rambo or Rocky. But for them, it’s always so awkward. You’re an actor with them, and you want a picture with them, but you don’t want to come off like you want a picture with them. But I still asked, and they would take pictures with me. I want to remember those moments. And they give you a lot of good advice. Sly would be like, “Don’t break eye contact. Keep it here. Don’t be discouraged or deflated.” He’d also let us rip, quite a bit. He’d let us improv, and just follow along. He’d say something and we’d be like, “What?!” It was an experience.

How do you think this film will compare to the first two?
LUTZ: I think it will be the best one. The script has so much depth and story to it. It’s a solid script, and then you add all these new faces to it. I can’t wait!

Lutz is just another one of these new breed of pretty faced twilight era wanna be action stars who have absolutely zero charisma other than good looks. It bothers me that once Stathams run is over (and I'm not even a big fan of his) the genre might truly be gone for good.

Arnie, Sly, Dolph all had something else than just being ripped and good looking... Sly had his trademark blue collar tough guy attitude with a bit of a slur in his speech. Arnie was always winking at the audience but at the same time came off like a guy that could kick your ass and then have a beer with you. Dolph with the greek god build also with his powerful voice and terminator like facial expressions when you knew he meant the business.

Lutz, and this new breed are just pretty boys who are doing these roles 'cause they think it looks cool.
