You mean you saw the full trailer? Can you tel a bit about it?

I actually like the teaser. Makes me hungry for more and the music is sweet.
BUT i don't understand why they feel the need to promote the new guys with names. Trying to establish them ofcourse but it kinda cheapens it when these nobodys get equal space to the legends. I mean who the FUCK is powell? ortiz?

the teaser is getting alot of hate over at the vandamme-boards but I fell it's undeserving of it.

Those posters on the other hand I am not so sure about. I have a feeling that these posters are sort of teasers also with the actors just "being themselves" on the shoot, with the equipment visible and all. Then they will unleash real character posters with the CHARACTERS names and without visible equipment and the guys looking badass. To contrast the actor from the role. Happy actor/mean character...
Can't really see the point in this but my guess is that is the idea.

Also... whats the deal with this being the "final mission"? I think Avi Lerners plan is to retire/semi-retire all of the oldschoolers after this one and will try to use this as a setup for a continuing series with younger actors. Hate the idea but on the other hand I would not mourn if Dolph is out of future EX movies. It's getting old.

While I am really looking forward to the movie I'm not convinced by this teaser. Don't like the movie and the style. It's too clean, not gritty enough. No dirt, no pain, no depth. This looks and sounds too polished. But i'm sure the movie will be good.

Typical of Lionsgate unsavory tastes and marketing (which maybe works more for Americans audiences, certainly not Europeans). Like someone pointed out, cutting to Statham laughing with Sly like they're in a pub is getting old (and never did anything for me).

Shows a bit more of that train sequence you see in the teaser... I'm guessing thats one of bigger stunt sequences in the whole movie. We also get a reveal on Gibson/Conrad and why he wants to do away with Barney and the gang. Looks like the tone of the film is still going to have forced humor of the second one. Lots of quick edits and each of the main guys gets a little vignette to show off. Not digging the vibe of the younger expendables seemingly taking over for the old gang.

Based on what I remember since I only viewed it a couple of times before it was taken down Hughes has an eye for good set pieces. Snipes looks like hes having fun again which is nice to see.

I still get pretty annoyed that they keep shoehorning the Barney/Christmas buddy cop back n forth deal... outside of all that Dolph has a couple nice shots of kicking ass but because of the large cast he doesn't stand out as much vs the last two movies trailers.

I wonder if that's not coming from Statham's demands, in a way to make sure he "co-leads"... I mean to be honest there's nothing much in his character to work with, the only interesting thing was his relationship to women and Charisma Carpenter specifically and that was completely avoided in part 2 (well Carpenter was cast at the last minute so there was nothing in the script, hence the guest appearance as a background extra).

Yea... and I'm sure I've mentioned before my general indifference with Statham. I've been a fan of Charisma since her days on angel and thought it was an wasted effort to give Christmas any type of development (they had no chemistry either which didn't help).

And as you mentioned they didn't even bring her back for the sequel but I digress. I knew there would still be cheesy humor in the 3rd film but I was hoping PH would reign it in more. My big concern was kind of gravitas they'd allow Gibson to bring to Conrad... based on the trailer it seems he's gonna be a heavy rather than a mix of psycho/goofball like VD was in EX2... which I like.

I guess the biggest impression I get from the trailer is it will probably be the best of the 3 so far but Dolphs impact/role won't be as great as in the sequel.

We don't know, we really can't base our impressions on this "roll call teaser" alone, which is done in a very contrived/artificial way and really doesn't show or say much, especially not about the characters. It only shows you one partially shadowed side of the coin, and the movie could be miles away from just these appearances and flaws.

and I'm sure I've mentioned before my general indifference with Statham.

I'm basing my last post on seeing the leaked trailer on superherohype.com that was taken down almost immediately by lionsgate... not sure it's legit until an official release but it it was all new footage and a bunch of gibson/conrad layering/buildup.

Can't believe I'm nitpicking over something as lame as the font, but the FAST AND THE FURIOUS-inspired font gives me a different vibe than the other films... which is odd considering most of the cast and crew is the same... Is anyone else getting a more jovial, happy vibe with this one?

Yeah, the font was one of the things I didn't like and found too polished. Doesn't fit.

I'll echo my dislike of the F&F font use. But the action set pieces here look spectacular. Building infiltration and choppa vs. tank train look more inspired than the last two films.

EDIT: As for Statham's character, I actually like him, because it portrays him as a loser. His girlfriend always cheats on him and he always goes crawling back, everyone always treats him like an idiot and laughs at him. It's a good change from the usual unstoppable badass he plays.
