I hope they're saving more footage of mel for the movie. I liked jcvd as a baddie but mel is actually a phenomenal actor so hopefully they're just holding back. And the whole cliche thing of them drinking at the bar with stallone making some wisecrack at the others expense is a little tiresome.

THE EXPENDABLES 3 Was Originally Rated R; Had to Make Cuts for PG-13 Rating

While you might think The Expendables 3 is taking it easy on the violence, think again. I’ve learned from sources that the film just squeaked by the MPAA with a PG-13 rating, and they had to make trims to get there after the first pass was given an R.

It's not a big deal to me about the PG-13 rating, they're most likely aiming for a wider audience with the younger cast members added to the mix (and maybe looking for extra merchandising with a more extensive action figure line). PG-13 really only limits the movie to one use of the "F Bomb", but still allows for quite a bit of intense action sequences. I'm sure they are prepared for a "Directors Cut" version with the Blu-Ray/DVD release later.

Yeah, what's more problematic is the hypocritical criterias of the MPAA ratings (language and sex over violence, swearing word counts, headshot head counts etc)

We'll see but that's not a given yet (and as I said before the EX1 DC doesn't seem to have done well enough).
