I think that's pretty spot on. Sucks to see it fall so hard but they should have taken more risks and blah blah blah. Will be interesting to see where Stallone goes from here. Dolph will be fine, he'll keep doing high end DTV or his own projects I think.

I don't know why they'd bother posting a vfx breakdown video when the CGI in the film is so abysmal.

Because for the VFX company what matters is that they've done EXPENDABLES 3 which still is one of their biggest movies (in terms of "brand" name) along with the other ones. Although ultimately Nu Image is their main employer (and owner I think) so it doesn't matter that much for their resume. But they also must be proud of their work...

Those poor guys at World Wide FX. They could do Avatar level CGI if they had the time and money, but these films always have such haphazard and very rushed productions, that they don't have anything to work with.

Also not sure Bulgarians artists/technicians have been trained to put in the same level of work, creativity and ambition, especially given they're pretty much employed like any employees so it's all the same all year long no matter which movie it is.

And I was wrong, it already passed $189 million worldwide, with $61M in China alone... (and it's yet top open in Japan November 1 where it could make $10-15M)

I thought this would make more in China than in the U.S., did not think it would make twice as much in China than in the U.S. which is where the numbers are headed.

Looks like the films been rescued by China and probably other asian markets too. If they do another film it might be sensible to cast the likes of Chan (make him a lead), Donnie Yen and maybe Jaa. Really push for that Asian market.
