Don't forget about "Welcome to the Jungle".
This is still my favourite (action) movies [starring even Sean William Scott]. The humor level is "good", but maybe there should have been a lil' more.
Seeing Dolph and Sean together is like Bud Spencer and Terence Hill... you know, both guys have the same strenght somehow, but they are a way too different, aren't they?
I can imagine seeing Scott as the jackass, doing moves and kicks but at the end he just hurts himself... then Dolph has to go through, teaching him a lesson and coming up with the humor... I don't know. Perhaps it will work.

Welcome to the Jungle is the "german" title of The Rundown. Very funny movie. S.W. Scott is a silly guy with silly movies but I love them when I'm in the right mood. I watched Road Trip twice in one week. Bulletproof Monk was mediocre, unfortunately. And Dude, Where's My Car... hm... I'm too old for that shit.

But still I was disappointed when I found out that khurram's thread was just a suggestion, not reality. SWC is A-list and could help Dolph. Could be another funny buddy movie, sillier than SILT.

The exciting thing about SOUTHLAND TALES is that it's the new movie by RICHARD KELLY the director of DONNIE DARKO one of my favorites movies in recent years!

But how do you want to show the "teen generation" that Dolph is at least as good as modern people like The Rock? I think back in 1994 it was the last time when there was running a movie starring Dolph. All other movies are broadcast on TV (seldemly), mostly about midnight and I only know two persons in my age who even heard of him. If he'd run in cinema now a days, he might have a better chance. I am sure we Germans will never have the chance to watch The Mechanic etc. here in cinema.

But I like Dolph's quote, dealing with the good old "vintage muscular actors type":

"In the '80s there were some guys who were real fighters, real body-builders, real martial artists who got into movies. They may have been limited as actors, but their presence still translated well on screen. The audience knew that guys like Charles Bronson could cause some damage if they hit you in real life. I think that element is largely missing from action movies. There are a few guys like that, The Rock for example, but not many. It'd be good to bring guys like that back."

Personally, I prefer like to see him as a role model who doesn't only act smartly but who can show his perfectly trained body. "Walking Tall" contains such a scene, even if the whole movie is so simple... a strong contrast to "The Rundown" which I've never dreamed of calling "Welcome to the Jungle" as a GERMAN title.

I watched the making of The Rundown and I think that Scott can become the muscular one. A lil' skinny, but defined.
