As for distributing the movie, Sony has definitely helped. For fanboys like us, the bad thing is that not only they gave it a ridiculous title (for no reason, and you can tell on his website that Dolph has nothing to do with it) but Sony also have the bad habit now to release their DVD titles with no extras whatsoever (where is our Dolph commentary?! back in the day they even tracked Damian Lee down to record one for Agent Red!)...

It´s so great that this film finds an audience because it really deserves it.
Sony distributing must help alot but I think that the fact that the film is good makes people talk about it.

Still no swedish release in sight. I can´t see why not. Seagalfilms like Submerged and Black Dawn hits the shelfs here about the same time they do in the US. And lots of other crap to. But no Dolph.

peace.

Sony always do a good standard of DVD with sound and picture quality. It's a shame about the lack of features.

I like the title ( The russian specialist ) when i bought the DVD it cost me 29.99 very expensive for a B-movie, i was afraid this movie was going to be another Agent Red. I bought Agent Red for the same price and i was upset that this movie was very poor directed and the cast sucked really bad except dolph was the only one who did well as an actor.

I did not know what to expect from this new movie, in the past there as been very good Dolph movies (The Punisher, Army of One, Silent Trigger)
and really bad ones (Cover Up, Agent Red, Storm Catcher ).

The name of the title and the cover of the dvd looked like it was a good movie but i thought the same thing about Agent Red good title with a good cover dvd witch turned up bad, so i decided to risk it and i must say Dolph Lundgren did a hell of a job directing and choosing the cast for this movie ( The russian specialist ) i hope he will get bigger budgets and direct more of his own movies.

R4 Australian: The Mechanik DVD Cover!

Postby BrunnenMatt on 06 Jun 2006, 09:36

Here's my local release in Australia, available 8th June 2006.

Looks like Roadshow used the original R1 artwork!

I have the R2 German [Extended Version] on order, since all Dolph Lundgren films get poor releases over here, and usually only contain a DD2.0 track with no extras, except preview trailers .

That's great news :D, can you confirm if it's uncut when you watch it? I beleive you where one of the first to purchase "The Controller"?

I have been hanging for this one since the news of the Greece release, but waited and waited for a release with good audio and extras.

My order is just waiting for "The Punisher" (XT-Video) before my German order leaves. I used D&T for the first time, so hopefully it will be a speedy delivery :!: :D.

Mechanik production notes: translate anyone?

Postby Jox on 07 Jun 2006, 20:10

Here are the production notes that are on the German DVD

I think I understood most but I was wondering if any of our fellow German fans would be willing to translate those?
