I always felt he was a little too cartoonish in the role of crooked cop, Severance. Would have rather seen this character played a different way. Even still though, Segal truly was a legend with an impressive CV over the years. He’ll be missed.
Maybe it was slightly cartoonish, but it was a very uncanny touch to have a respected actor of his generation play opposite Dolph (rather than the usual big guy). The casting of the supporting characters was definitely paying homage to a certain era with (other than Segal) the faces of Geoffrey Lewis, Bert Remsen, Michelle Phillips, or even Ken Foree...
From what I've seen, the french BluRay (with a possible "VHS packaging") is back on tracks, with preorder happenning within the next few weeks (and I believe with bonus materials featuring our own Jox).
It is (I mean yes, they announced it) but it's still very early on the project so nothing's set in stone yet about the specs and features of this release (and they have a lot of titles in the works at the same time)...
Does the French Blu-ray edition contain both versions of the film in HD? The official French version is the version with the alternate ending in the footage.
