Finally watched the Men of War MVD Rewind bluray. Still one of Dolph's best movies. Good cinematography, good story that takes it's time and good action. Also Dolph gives one of his best performances.

Watched Matewan by John Sayles yesterday, and one of the main antagonist was played by.... Kevin Tighe MoW really has a John Sayles-verse aspect to it. (and also discovered that Perry Lang acted in other Sayles movies)

Yes, quite a few of the MOW cast members were in several of Sayles' directorial films, he and Lang are old friends, and Sayles also acted in Lang's debt feature LITTLE VEGAS a few years before MOW...

Released 30 years ago in French cinemas!

It was playing in a decent amount of theaters especially around Paris and suburbs (30 screens, and 80 nationwide) but it bombed terribly... (at the time summer was a great period for the box office n France). I saw it twice on the big screen (although the second time was on a very small one).

My interview / featurette on the making of MEN OF WAR, originally made for the 2016 German Blu-ray, is now featured on the new US edition available tomorrow (and region-free).

I also provided a tape of rough footage that was sent to distributors who had licensed the film, and a gallery of stills and artwork, plus an intro from director Perry Lang.
