Sorry, I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings - Action-Freaks can be extremely sensitive, I should know that.
So, no more van Damme-bashing. :wink:

I had to avert my eyes from some scenes in Barrett (aka Joshua Tree or Army of one) and Cover Up, and couldn't bring myself to watch The Last Warrior to the end. :oops:

But that is just me.

Barett is the German Title of Army of One - which maybe I should watch again, considering the posts on this page.
It's been a long time, maybe I can truly appreciate it now.

The Last Patrol is dreadful but Army of One is really good (IMHO). And Dolph looks gorgeous. Love that red shirt.

Off-topic but while we are it, briefly:

one of the many issues on the Last Patrol set was that Sheldon Lettich and Dolph had both signed on it with a mutual agreement from the other producer that the script would be seriously rewritten by Lettich. But the writers, who worked in soap-operas and also where co-producers of the film, did not allow that one line of the script would be changed! Plus a lot of bickering and misunderstandings between the various producing entities... and the lack of money... they didn't even have enough for light equipment on one scene...

Hm, strange.
I do love action, and not only with Dolph.
But all (allmost all) actors has tridet something else besides action or just drama. It's interesting for actor him/her self to tri something else.
And Dolph has admited, that he would like to try something else, not just action.

I just like Dolph, because even that he is an action actor, he has high IQ. Not like some actors do. (IMHO)

But, about nr 2) "You love the weird stuff he says in his interviews"

Is that true? I mean, I speak some french but not enough to determine if what JC says in french is jibberish or not. But, I have french friends that claim that he always mixes dutch( flemish), english and french when being interviewed for french TV but I wouldn´t know. We´ve got quite a few french guys on the forum. Is it true?

Absolutely true!

When "Replicant" was released in French theaters, and although it got the best reviews for a VD movie, that's when people in France started to make even more fun of him... because he appeared on a lot of TV shows but his interviews didn't make any sense. He was talking some French/English gibberish and he was just all over the place, discussing the sense of life without making any sense and didn't seem to be cleared from drugs at this time... I don't think JCVD was behaving like that when he started his career up till "Universal Soldier"... I heard he really started to lose it around 1993 when he divorced to marry this rich woman Darcy LaPier...

JC acted normal before 1990, then he began taking drugs...I'd say he stopped to say freaky things around 2003. Maybe a bit before...He used to be one of the favorite guests of french stupid talk-shows, where he said a lot of magic stuff

But it's not all gibberish, he says things that make sense if you go for a philosophy close to Buddhism,...Stuff about inner-strength, achievment, only he had a very weird way to say it.

I read a lot about Buddhism, zen and other spiritual stuff, but even VD sometimes says things that could be true or interesting it's without substance...

I did love Van Damme in one or two movies. Then I learned more about him, and started to hate him.
So, you can love him as an actor, or as an persone. I do not love any of those choises.
