Hi,

I just bought some DVDs at "www.dvdfsk18.at" in austria - I had to exchange some of my video cassettes and also buy some new stuff.

I just had to have UniSol uncut - the cut version made me go nuclear: You don't know who's dead and who isn't because every death is cut out.
Doesn't make any sense in the FSK 16 version!

I also found "Showdown in little Tokyo" and lots of others.
Me such a happy monkey!

But don't get your hopes up, Pentathlon is only in German and Diamond Dogs is currently not available at that vendor.

Sounds good! I didn't know that such a butchered edition of UniSol existed...

The Punisher was one what got heap of violence cut (roughly 8 seconds), what I was sad to see missing. Until I got the Austrian DVD release .

Red Scorpion is missing a scene where soldiers burn down a village with flame throwers! Until I finally tracked down the "Uncut" release and notice it is a different cut, with slightly extended scenes and scenes in different sequences.

There heaps more but it really depends what country has censored the movie. Movies from Germany and the UK are countries what do cut movies to pieces. A lot of movies release too DVD in the US have also been cut. I know “Showdown In Little Tokyo”, “American Samurai”, “Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor”, “Prom Night III: The Last Kiss” and “Hard Target” are some titles what have been cut for an “R-Rating”.

Here in Germany, there are often two versions around: The cut-to-pieces FSK 16 version and the uncut 18 version.
But it's hard enough to find any Dolph movies in the stores, so it is easier on the internet.

Also, on the net I'm not getting laughed at by shop clerks or asked to show my ID, which happened only weeks ago - dammit, I am 30 years old - can't I buy some Horror/Action movies without losing my dignity?!

The shop I found prides itself on the fact that the movies are uncut or not rated - I hope for the best.

Unbelievable that's like going to a bar or getting a glass of wine in the US: even if you look 35 they'll demand for your ID! But Horror/action flicks?! Ridiculous... In France it's the opposite, movies are barely rated and a most of the time you can sneak or go in even if you're underage because nobody gives a shit! For instance "The Punisher" was rated 13 (instead of R or 18) when it came out in theaters, I was only 10-11 years old and went to see it four times! (also wen to see Hard Boiled and Basic Instinct which were rated 16 when I was only 13)...

Anyway, kids will see the movie when it's aired on TV or they'll see the VHS-DVD, so why not selling a few extra tickets?
And with illegal downloads now...most of the time, people don't even know what the movie rating is ^^

I remember looking for the local region 4 release of "Red Scorpion" recently and every shop I went to the clerk knew who Dolph was or remember seeing the movie. One store clerk even told me to stay clear of "Red Scorpion 2".

The biggest order of Dolph movies for me was from an Austrian shop for "The Punisher" 2 Disc Austrian, "The Punisher" German, "Cover Up" German, "Direct Action" German and "The Mechanik" German All uncut releases except the German "Punisher"

I'll check out that shop. play.com is mostly my first choice because they have a lot of movies, very good prices (Red Scorpion 5 UK Pound) and free shipping.

Regarding German cut versions: Believe it or not - the German version of Men of War is 19 (NINETEEN!!!) minutes shorter than the U.S. version. Guess that must be a record.

I usually check the ofdb for good versions. If you manage to click through that German site you might check it out for Dolph DVDs around the world. The little scissors icon next to the version means that it is cut. For example, the Men of War listing:

Wow, that's the first UNISOL version i've seen back in '92. That vhs was ripped from cinema, so this version was released in some countries.
