Cooool, yeah I agree, could have put in a clip with action but still at least its something! Are you gonna be using the home page to promote Diamond Dogs, Jox?

I don't think so, unless I put up the trailer for a week but I'm not sure. MM was a worldwide release and had a lot to promise so it made more sense to push it. DD has already been out for w a while in some markets and I'm not gonna promote it for the sake of it (or something I don't believe in and DL is not comfortable with either), so I just put the cover on the menu banner.

DD gets another rather positive review though. For some reason I guess when reviewers don't expect much from a DL movie they can be more forgiving, whereas with a more ambitious and artsy film like MM they pick on flaws more easily rather than praising the effort and originality

Very good. Seems Diamond Dogs might not be as bad as I am thinking it will be.

Well, I can usually find something good or a little merit in any film. For Diamond Dogs, I'm just looking for a film with a reasonable plot, no embarassingly bad moments, a little action, good cinematography and a few cool kicks, the fact that Dolph is playing a little different character than usual, should make it a little more interesting. Have you seen DD, Jox?

I watched DIAMOND DOGS last night and enjoyed it. I don't think it is up to the level of Dolph's recent directorial efforts though. It is very gritty, with tons of violence. The location photography in Mongolia, China and the virtually unknown supporting cast also helped out quite a bit. Worth checking out.

Got words that Wal-mart has big displays with both "Diamond Dogs" and "Hero Wanted", DD being on the top shelf...

Final fights of Diamond Dogs - although someone has over-dubbed it with crap basically and thought it was funny - still nice to see though and yeah the final battle is over before it gets started, the two fights should have been swapped around and Dolph should have beaten the crap out of the bad guy - still pretty good though, some nice moves and pretty violent. Perhaps they ran out of time on the shoot to do a bigger fight for the end? Jox?

They ran out of everything, really. And everything was quickly rewritten on a daily basis and set up quickly. Of course it was not a decision by choice...

What with Indy 4 coming out fairly soon, I think that DD should do well. Plenty of people will rent it as the cover sells it as a kind of action adventure flick, sadly most will find that it sucks. Strangely the critics have been kind with it. There is a kind of cheesy sense of fun about it though. I just hope it doesn't put people off renting future Dolph projects, because Direct Contact looks like it'll kick ass, and Command Performance should be awesome too.

The thing is, if it is violent and if Dolph fights and shoots, the casual viewer who picks it up at the look of the dvd cover, won't really care. Unlike us, most people aren't looking for spectacular direction and a heavy plot, they are just looking for mindless low-budget sillyness, and from what I've seen in the clips so far - DD delivers this to some extent.

I'm not sure about that, it could be an endless debate, and without tangible information, it's a tricky question. This might be true to an extent, but then why Dolph's flicks are suddenly more successful since he's been directing and delivering more sophisticated films of higher standards? Don't feed producers arguments to make mindless crap just because they underestimate audiences... For instance I was just watching Florentine's "Special Forces" and found it of very little interest even just for the action or "mindless silliness".

I think Diamond Dogs failed to hit the rental charts..IMDB only goes up to 49/50 for some reason...so basically, looking at the charts it failed to make the minimum of 700k needed to enter with a place in the top 50..unless it is number 50.
