I was told Danny Lerner cut his movies quickly, well there you go: DIRECT CONTACT is completed and has already been rated R by the MPAA "for violence, language and brief nudity." This could mean a release before the end of the year.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8) Awesome! That's the news I've been waiting for!! Thank You VERY much, Jox!! :D There's just no stopping new Dolph movies being released this year!! Also, in my experience, as soon as news breaks of a movie getting an MPAA rating, its release date is announced shortly afterwards, a few months or so. In the UK for example, a movie is usually rated a month at the most before the release date, sometimes even a week before its release and some TV spots come with its rating to be confirmed :o

When I think about it, it's suspicious how quick this was: the film was rated by July 2nd meaning the film was probably ready by June 15th, that is to say barely 3 months after filming wrapped (which also seems to be quicker than Lerner's previous flick "Shark in Venice"). So things important areas such as sound design or scoring must have been really rushed...

Same here, I've been looking forward to this movie because even although I really love Dolph's new stylish work I would still love a film in the vein of his cheesy Nu Image classics like Sweepers and Bridge of Dragons.
There are a few things worrying me about this movie, like there was when Diamond Dogs was on the cards but I think the movie will have a good look thanks to Ross Clarkson, I don't really pay too much attention to the score and things like that unless it has a really distinctive score like The Russian Specialist.

I can't talk about it, I don't even know myself, so I won't speculate on anything.

Oh! And do you have any more pics you've been holding onto,

Yes.

did you manage to get a snap of you and your hero on the set?

Nope, one thing I didn't want was to play and appear as groupie, plus it didn't feel appropriate. Look, I was there with him (and thanks to him) for a few days, I was conversing with him and even shared a few shots of tequila with the man, so that tops any photo or autograph doesn't it?! Of course if the opportunity presents itself I'd be happy to make one but it has to happen in a genuine/natural way, just like you'd do with friends.

I guess it would have kinda spoiled it to appear and some fan boy and take away any credibility as a reliable friend who can help to promote his movies and reach the fans.
