Although the chances are of course that the trailer for the actual movie is on one of Van Damme's and Seagal's next releases and vise versa..right?

Maybe so, but I'm not really about to go and buy a different DVD just to be able to see a trailer for another film that I might already have...

My current DVD collection numbers a little in excess of 200 titles, and there's not a single Seagal movie in there. I MAY eventually buy the two Under Siege movies, but for the most part, I haven't been sufficiently entertained by one of his films to the point where I've wanted to buy it.
It's possible that I may check out one or two of JCVD's upcoming films, but again, not if it's solely to see a trailer for a Dolph movie included on the disc.

Ahh well see for me I collect all the new Van Damme, Seagal and Lundgren movies on DVD but on a little side note I do recommend Wake of Death from Van Damme and Urban Justice from Seagal if your looking for recent films. For me the special features I like to see are a trailer for the actual movie on the disc and a short making of and you know they've put in the effort if they've even bothered to put in a Cast and Crew section. There's no excuse for not putting in simple things like that. Although sometimes in Dolph's case the trailers aren't even cut before the release of the DVD, which is a shame.

Well you don't see cast & crew sections anymore for the simple reasons that nobody (almost) cared or looked at it, it was annoying to browse on a DVD, there wasn't anything special about it (info available elsewhere and better) and most of the time the minimum info required wasn't even there... so why pay a graphic designer to play around for nothing? Better spend the time and money on something else IMHO.

I guess but instead of actually giving us something else they simply removed it, production notes are better but as you so rightly say better information is available on the net.

Other or additional extras, promotion, more careful work on the masters with the color correction, encoding, you name it...

Or putting the money towards Dolph's cut of the movie for example, how dare they not pay a genius director and editor like Dolph for his version!!

This is another story.

It's not him they didn't want to pay it's his editor (from what I was reported) but I suspect on this particular matter that there was something else at stake. I'm not even sure the material of this cut was even delivered from Moonstone to Sony, and they probably didn't have anything left on the budget anyway, and since they probably felt it was already compromised it wouldn't do much difference which cut is released...

I saw they had quite a few copies (as much as they had of MM, which wasn't great but descent for a DL) at the Virgin Megastore near me. And yeah the packaging looks great even though it's cheating consumers all the way (even on the back they make it look like a fighting movie). It's a shame sometimes it's not the best movies that get the best releases here ("The Last Patrol" and "Detention" had better releases than "Hidden Agenda", "Direct Action" and "The Defender" which were meant for the bargain bin for instance)

Diamond Dogs adverts were showing all of Sunday night on UK television and it managed to get into #7 in Morrisons, a big supermarket in the UK. I'll try to check out some other shops soon.
