In all honesty Jox, do you think it's possible that Sony will consider this for a theatrical release of any sort...I think it's a shame to make teaser trailers, promo photos, posters, website and all that stuff and not give the movie a shot. I think Dolph deserves it a hell of a lot and even if it does go DTV, I think it deserves to be one of the best selling DTV films of the year if not THEEEE best selling DTV film of the year...I haven't even seen it or any footage from it and yet I know it will be one of his best action movies in his career so far.

What I know is that Dolph will push it as far as he can and one way to do it is to create the buzz that could convince the suits that there is a wait and an audience for it and make them consider a theatrical (even limited) run. Maybe there's chance not through Sony, but through Nu Image's new US theatrical distribution arm, First Look Pictures?

So in reality, Sony haven't actually purchased the rights to this movie or Nu Image can still distribute it if they want to? I think that Dolph is good at pushing his movies and I hope he gets what he wants.

No, Sony was licensed, at least, the home video rights. I'm just not sure about the theatrical rights, because it happens sometimes that theatrical and TV rights go to different companies...

Ahh I see, I didn't know that, so technically Nu Image could release it theatrically through their company before Sony distribute the DVD. I think this LOOKS like it could be the film with the most potential for a cinema release from Dolph's directorial back catalogue.

Is that...a knife he's sticking through that guy's head? Brutal!! Love it!! Looks like a nice colour scheme. You don't know if Dolph will desaturate the film or add any colour palette effect to it Jox? Or is it clean, bright fun this time instead of the grittyness of MM?

It's a knife!

Like all Dolph's directorial efforts, CP will have a unique look to it, both colorful and gritty...

I'm glad to hear that Jox, Dolph's movies ALWAYS look very impressive in terms of colour and actually when I watch a movie now I'm disappointed if they don't do something cool with the colour palette. I really love the look of The Defender, The Mechanik and Missionary Man.
