I don't understand how people could possibly wish for any more at all. It's like an action fans dream already. People are never satisfied, do they realise how much effort it takes to get these guys together. That's why it's never been done before. And it's taken one of them, ie Stallone to take the reigns and do it.

I like the cast so far, i think any more famous actors could hurt the budget for the movie although i would like very much JC to be in this movie, i think Stallone should not hire anymore big names.

Maybe Expendables 2 he could hire once again big names

The talkback section for this on AICN is hilarious. Everyone on their is just geeking out with casting ideas, and suggestions. Plenty of hilarious random qoutes from 80's classics. Talkbackers are so often very negative, but it's pretty much universally postive and excitement for The Expendables. This is gonna be a monster hit.

I think every action fan on the planet will see this one..men and women. Not only that but all the Stallone, Dolph, Li, Statham, Whitaker, Knepper fans will see it too. It's basically going to double the box office takings. But let's calm down, it isn't made yet..

The audience a lot of the same crowd so if the math was this simple we/producers would know.

Like mentioned on FirstShowing.net, the (alias?)names of the five mercenaries are Hale Caesar, Kong Kao, Christmas, Barney Ross, and Gunnar.

could be possible, as the stories look just a little alike (but it might just be a blink to men of war i think) (or a total coincidence from sly).

Kong Kao will be Jet Li. Maybe it's a tribute to Men of War. I am told Kong Kao means "Assfuck" in Chinese!

Not sure it's related to MOW and I mean anybody, especially a writer, could have to come up with it: 'gun-nar'...

It'll probably come to nothing, but it will be a nice nod for fans like us!
Mind you, if ANYBODY connected with the film mentions the name 'Nick The Swede', I'll lose my MIND!!!!! :D

Sly must have re-written quickly though. Gunnar doesn't really suit Van Damme. It would have been a weird one. It sounds quite nordic, or maybe German, possibly russian, so would suit Dolph. Maybe Van Damme was Christmas, seeing as what a gift JCVD ended up being! 8)

Sounds cool though, cause it's not going to take itself too seriously. Sounds like it'll very much be in the 80's mould. My only complaint about Rambo, was that Stallone took it too seriously, tried to ground it too much (and the Saw violence jarred against the style a little, because it was unrealistic). Expendables sounds like it's got a little of that 80's tongue in cheek like Commando. Plus Rambo's other main flaw was the poor support cast and lack of bad guy. No such problems in this flick. Sly's correcting a lot of the problems from his last flick, and going balls out with this sucker, by the sounds of it.

It's gonna be awesome.
