I like the title SGT.K.

Hey guys,

I stumbled on this forum/thread while looking for info on SILT, really enjoyed reading all your comments about this awesome film. I have been a fan of this film since I first seen it back in 1992, a big fan of Brandon Lee I am :)

I like many other fans I would love to see the work print/directors cut of this film, as the years go by it seems more unlikely to happen! :( Even a Blu-ray would be nice, not sure why WB won't release it! I wonder if WB will ever give up the rights to the film? then maybe Shout Factory or some company will give the fans what they want and what the film deserves!

Thanks for this great forum, very happy I spotted it!

Thanks and welcome! Feel free to join the conversations anytime.

I'm sure WB will release the Blu-ray soon or later (after all they're almost done with the Seagal titles). Actually when I interviewed Lester last May he was to call them up to push them to release it, but it can sometime take a year or two from the time they start working on it to when it actually comes out.

Welcome newgen2005!

Warner has to put out a blu for this at some point. They did one for ACTION JACKSON last year, and that was a title (like SHOWDOWN) that had only been released as a full frame DVD previously. Would love it to get the sort of treatment that ARMY OF ONE or I COME IN PEACE got but I don't know if Warner has any sort of relationship with Shout Factory. Will keep hoping.

Mark L. Lester ITV:
Q: You’ve worked in the Hollywood system earlier in your career, and now you’re working largely in smaller films. Do you have a preference? Which ones are easier?

ML: They both have their good sides and their bad sides. But the business has changed, and these days you can’t do anything in the studio system if you can’t get it made for $100 million. I like to think of the films I did in the 80s as actor-driven or concept-driven pieces. Things you could do without having to break the bank. I made Commando with Schwarzenegger and Showdown in Little Tokyo with Brandon Lee and Dolph Lundgren. Who needed gigantic effects budgets when you had those guys doing their thing? These days, if you make a film under $10 million, it’s never going to make it into theaters. The good news is you have all these other options for finding an audience. First it was video and DVD, and now there’s VOD and Netflix. Cable, too has become a lot more open to smaller movies. So you can make the movies you want and have a lot of fun and freedom to do it your way, and still make sure that your investors get a return on their money.

Punisher55, please use another image host because the one you're using is infested with pop-up spam.

Swedish VHS

(running time listed is 67 mins: if true, 8 mins would have been cut from this version, which is likely since most Dolph movies were either cut or censored for a while in Sweden back then)
